In addition to being a pet journalist and content writer, I know the horse world very well, as a former horse park executive and competitor in the hunter/jumper ring. In that management role, I often collaborated with top international and national competitors and officials. As an equestrian journalist and content writer, I also won a United States Equestrian Federation Media Award, too!

Pets and Animals
How do I write this without getting, well, emotional? Animals can be loving, loyal, and totally entertaining companions who provide strength during loneliness and isolation. I write about lessons of the heart, but also describe the pet industry business with the eye of an entrepreneur. I manage a 501(c)(3) charity that helps pets, and I train a most remarkable cat for brand work: Ms. Mango Meow.
I'm also developing a branded content series, "A Round of Appaws!", about great animal shelters, and it's upbeat, positive, and ideal for sponsorship. I have loved and ridden many horses, been a horse park executive and rescued wildlife in need: a sick squirrel that crawled up my pant leg and a critically ill litter of baby skunks. Yes, they all made it!
I've written about pets and animals for the ASPCA, Petco, HSUS, NBC and TODAY and USA Today, among many. My industry work includes Pet Business, Pet Product News, Veterinary Practice News and more.
